Isaac Netball Squad Shine at SW Lincolnshire Tournament

Isaac Netball Squad Shine at SW Lincolnshire Tournament

Our netball team delivered an outstanding performance last week as they took part in the South West Lincolnshire Netball Tournament, hosted at Priory Ruskin Academy.

Competing in a challenging league of seven schools – and in unusually warm spring conditions – the team burst out of the blocks with confidence and composure. Their footwork, movement, and teamwork across the court were exceptional from the very first whistle.

Defenders worked tirelessly to turn over possession, feeding the ball seamlessly up the court and into the shooting circle. Their accuracy in attack matched their discipline in defence, and by the end of the group stage Isaac had achieved something remarkable: winning every single match, scoring a total of 24 goals and conceding only 2.

Their unbeaten run secured them a place in the semi-finals, where they battled hard but understandably began to run out of steam after such a dominant and energetic series of matches. Despite their best efforts, they narrowly missed out on a place in the final.

Showing true sportsmanship and mutual respect, our pupils and their opponents agreed to share third place rather than compete in a playoff match. It was a heart warming moment that demonstrated the very best of school sport – kindness, fairness, and camaraderie.

A special congratulations goes to Cliffedale Primary School, with whom Isaac Newton proudly shared the bronze medals.

“We are so proud of the team,” said Mrs Atter, Laura and Mr Doughty. “The spirit they showed was to be commended. They trained hard, listened to advice, and put everything they had into their games. We couldn’t have asked for more.”
